Shannon Herbert, Canadian Liaison
Shannon was born on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, where a deep connection to land, community and resilience continues to shape her work. Across her career, she has been driven by a commitment to justice — environmental, social and personal — and to supporting communities in building safer, more sustainable futures.
Shannon brings over a decade of experience in both the non-profit sector and law enforcement. She spent 10 years with the Falls Brook Centre, contributing to international initiatives in organic agriculture, ecological restoration and renewable energy.
She is a founding member of the Knowlesville Nature Centre, a cooperative community school in rural New Brunswick rooted in forest school principles and land-based, experiential education.
Now based in Yukon, Shannon works in law enforcement specialising in trauma-informed, victim-centred investigations into intimate partner violence and complex sexual assaults. Her work bridges land and justice, community and systems change, guided by dignity, equity and collective responsibility.
